This week I am reading the 2020 Newbery award winning graphic novel New Kid by Jerry Kraft.
So far I am loving it.  The main character is Jordan Banks who is starting 7th grade at a new private school outside his neighbor hood.  I am enjoying the format and the humor so far.  I would love to hear about what you are reading please share in the comments section below!

Hello fellow Sand Creek students and teachers.  Welcome to the SCE Library Blog.  This blog is designed for us to share what we are reading each week with one another.  Each week I will post what I am reading and you can share what you are reading by commenting on my weekly post.  Please include the title and author of the book you are currently reading and include your name if you would like a reply.
For my next book I chose Out of the Wild Night  A Ghost story by Blue Balliett.  It takes place in the Month of November one of my favorite months.  Some of the other books I have read by this author are Chasing Vermer a mystery about a missing painting. The Calder Game, and The Wright Three, a mystery envolving a famous house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.  Very good stories!

This week I am reading Louisana's Way Home written by Kate DiCamilla author of
Because of Winn Dixie.  So far I am loving the voice of the main character, Louisanna.  She has a big personality.  I also think this will make a terrific read aloud if I can just brush up on my southern accent!  I also found out Louisana is a character in a prior book calle Raymie Nightengale also by Kate DiCamilla, so I am listening to that on audio book from DCSD Overdrive collection.

March 23-April 3

I am reading The Brooklyn Nine by Alan Gratz, author of Refugee.  This story follows a family through multiple generations using the nine inning format of a baseball game.  Each inning contains 3 chapters detailing the life and times of one member of the Schneider family beginning with Felix Schneider who has recently immigrated to America in 1845 from Bremen, Germany.  Please let us know what you are reading.
