I am reading The Brooklyn Nine by Alan Gratz, author of Refugee. This story follows a family through multiple generations using the nine inning format of a baseball game. Each inning contains 3 chapters detailing the life and times of one member of the Schneider family beginning with Felix Schneider who has recently immigrated to America in 1845 from Bremen, Germany.
